Paperwork is pushing educators out of the profession

The documentation demands of NQF compliance have created an unsustainable burden. Educators are burning out not from the children—but from the paperwork.

📝

The Documentation Trap

Learning stories, observations, reflections, forward planning. The paperwork never ends—and the goalposts keep moving with EYLF v2.0 requirements.

🏠

The Car Park Reality

Finish work at 5pm. Do paperwork until 6pm. The work follows you home because there's never enough time during the day.

😰

The Compliance Anxiety

A&R visits loom. Is the documentation good enough? Are the EYLF links correct? The cognitive load is exhausting.

From voice memo to learning story in minutes

Speak what you saw. Kindred transforms your observations into professional, NQS-compliant documentation—ready for your review.

Your Quick Voice Note

"So Mia's been at the blocks for like twenty minutes now, she's super focused, keeps trying to balance them differently and when it falls she just goes 'again!' and rebuilds straight away, um she's counting them each time, got to twelve I think, and she just asked Liam to help find the biggest one for the bottom which was really sweet"

Professional Learning Story

Mia's Mathematical Discovery Through Construction

Mia demonstrated sustained engagement and persistence during construction play today. Over a twenty-minute period, she explored concepts of balance, stability, and spatial awareness through block building.

When her initial tower collapsed, Mia showed resilience by immediately recommencing—exclaiming "again!" with determination. She employed mathematical thinking by counting blocks sequentially to twelve, and demonstrated emerging understanding of foundations by requesting "the biggest one for the bottom."

Notably, Mia sought collaboration with Liam, showing social skills and the ability to identify peer support for her learning goals.

Features designed around your workflow

Every feature exists to give you time back. Nothing more, nothing less.

🎙️

Push-to-Talk Collar Mics

Lightweight collar microphones designed for the classroom. Press the button, speak your observation in a continuous flow, press again to finish. No phone fumbling. No stepping away. Each educator wears their own mic—record observations without interrupting each other.

Core Feature
👥

Multi-Educator Rooms

Every educator in the room has their own collar mic synced to the app. Sarah can record an observation about Mia while James records one about Leo—simultaneously, without interference. Each recording is tagged to the right educator automatically.

Core Feature
🧠

Intelligent Transformation

Your fast, casual voice note becomes a structured learning story with objective language, developmental observations, and proper pedagogical terminology. The AI removes filler words, organises your thoughts, and maintains the authentic details you captured.

Core Feature
📚

Deep EYLF v2.0 Alignment

Not just keyword matching. Our AI understands the nuance of each outcome and principle—including the new v2.0 requirements around Aboriginal perspectives, sustainability, and collaborative learning. Accurate framework links with clear rationale.

Core Feature

30-Second Workflow

Press. Speak. Release. That's it. In the time it takes to mentally note an observation, you've captured it permanently. No typing, no touchscreens, no breaking eye contact with the children. Documentation happens in the flow of teaching.

Early Childhood Educator
Gold Coast, QLD

I built this because I live it

I'm an Early Childhood Educator on the Gold Coast, currently completing my studies in Early Childcare. Every day, I see talented colleagues burning out—not because of the children, but because of the paperwork that follows them home.

"We became educators to make a difference in children's lives. Not to spend our evenings writing documentation instead of being with our own families."

Kindred isn't built by a tech company guessing what educators need. It's built by someone who knows the 5pm car park documentation sessions. The A&R anxiety. The joy that gets buried under compliance pressure.

This is documentation that finally works with you.

Built for trust from day one

We know you're cautious about AI and voice technology in childcare settings. Here's exactly how Kindred handles your data.

🎙️

Voice is processed, never stored

Your voice recording is converted to text instantly, then deleted. We never keep audio files. Only the text transcript remains—and you control that.

🇦🇺

Data stays in Australia

All processing and storage happens on Australian servers. Your centre's data never leaves the country. We're building to meet APP compliance from the start.

👁️

You review everything

AI generates drafts. You approve, edit, or reject them. Nothing is ever published without an educator clicking "approve." The AI assists—you decide.

🔐

Your centre owns your data

We don't use your observations to train AI models. We don't sell data. We don't share with third parties. Your documentation belongs to your centre, period.

💡 Still have questions? We're happy to walk through our data handling in detail. Reach out anytime.

What educators are asking

How does the Bluetooth collar mic work?
It's a small, lightweight microphone you wear while working with children. When you observe something worth documenting, press the button to start recording, speak naturally about what you see, then press again to stop. The audio syncs to your phone via Bluetooth and is instantly transcribed. Each educator has their own mic, so multiple staff can record simultaneously without interference.
Will it work with our current documentation system (Storypark, OWNA, Xplor)?
Initially, Kindred generates polished documentation you can copy-paste into your existing system. We're planning direct integrations with major platforms so you can export directly—but we wanted to be useful immediately, without requiring your centre to switch systems.
What if the AI writes something incorrect?
That's why human review is mandatory. Every AI-generated draft shows clearly what came from your voice note versus what the AI expanded or suggested. You edit before approving anything. If the AI misunderstands, you fix it—just like proofreading any document. Over time, the system learns your style and gets more accurate.
Is this compliant with NQS and EYLF requirements?
Kindred is designed around NQS and EYLF v2.0 requirements. The AI understands outcome language and helps ensure your documentation addresses the right elements. But remember: the tool assists with writing—the pedagogical thinking and observation still comes from you, the qualified educator.
How much does it cost?
We're still finalising pricing based on educator feedback. Early pilot centres will get significant discounts in exchange for helping us refine the product. If pricing is a key concern for your centre, let us know—we want Kindred to be accessible, not another expensive add-on.
